Chapter 49

Luke noticed Sally’s absence during dinner, which was sandwiches and microwaved soup eaten in near silence in the living room; the weight of exhaustion and violence hung over the group like a drug haze. He washed out his soup bowl and went looking for her. Sootie trotted along behind him, happy to be wherever he was, peripherally involved in whatever he was doing.

He found Sally in the barn, leaning against the thick-beamed door frame and staring at the empty space full of footprints and recent trauma. He came up behind her and put his arms around her waist; she leaned against him, and her tensed muscles relaxed at his touch. The dog found a pile of hay and curled up to doze, one ear alert in case her people wandered. Continue reading Capricious: Chapter 49

43rd Night—In He Comes

Just for a few weeks. Just a few! Chana had been so very insistent, of course. Dhiar knew he couldn’t resist her indefinitely. It was always easier to go along with things, to acquiesce, otherwise she would be inconsolable and utterly torturous to live with for any length of time. He knew what he had to do.

And so Merry and Tomas received their own invitations, but the both of them were content where they were. It was good enough; they could surely get to Berlin easily enough, if they wanted, at some later date. So the Succubus and the Incubus were alone together, again. If they had taken an airplane, it might have been faster. But the both of them loved the romance of the sea, and it would not be all too long that way. They would sail for the first part, and the train would carry them the rest of the way. Perhaps on the return voyage, they would opt for flight. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 43

I was aiding the General with a revised tally in the afternoon when a young soldier in a wide-brimmed hat came seeking him. I was surprised to learn that he was only looking for Roichal because he was hoping to find me. He introduced himself as Van, and as he swept off the hat once he was inside the tent I recognized him by his brown curls as one of the boys Harman had rescued from a Night Mage’s keep. One of the eldest, and it appeared they had made a soldier of him, now that his eyes were adjusting to the light.

Roichal exchanged a glance with me, as if to tell me he would be right outside if my virtue needed defending, but that he would leave us to speak in private. Continue reading The Prince’s Boy: Chapter 55

Chapter 48

All things considered, the puncture wound in Luke’s arm was the least of their problems, but Sally and Agatha insisted on dressing it. When they came out of the house, Alan was gone, collected by the reinforcements Cormick had called for before Luke and the others left for the storage facility. The dead troll in the middle of the yard was gone, as was Sally’s mother’s sedan–riddled with bullets, windows shot out, the front half crushed from its encounter with the gate, bloodstained from several different people, and containing the body of Glen the goblin. Luke wondered which of the myth-folk locals had used what sort of magic to rid the place of the car so quickly and quietly. The three council members from the troll prison had left for San Antonio for long-term treatment with a myth-folk doctor. Continue reading Capricious: Chapter 48

Circlet Press 25th Anniversary Anthology KICKSTARTER LAUNCH!!

Circlet Press has been publishing erotic science fiction and fantasy since 1992. Our mission has always been to celebrate the sexual imagination as a way to change the world for the better. We would like to see a world where many different expressions of gender and sexuality are accepted and celebrated in ways that they may not be in the present day.

This year marks our 25th anniversary and to commemorate 25 years on the cutting edge of erotic literature, we would like to publish a “best of” anthology, as we did in 2012, 2007, and 2002. To produce a beautiful paperback edition is going to take money.

42nd Night—Gimme Gimme Gimme

Naked bodies glistened with water and the sparkle of lamps. They hadn’t wanted to switch on the electric lights, but they had to provide some illumination in the middle of the night. A Succubus and an Incubus in attendance made it less of a priority for the light to be particularly brilliant; the sense of touch proved much more telling about the geography of the bodies of others.

In short, Dhiar and Chana had completely unintentionally turned the fraternity’s natatorium apple-bobbing goof into an impromptu orgy. Everyone seemed to be having quite a good time though, so neither regretted it. Continue reading Incubus Tales: Chapter 42

I have likely been remiss in relating what being beaten is like. There is quite a difference between being struck with a fist, as in a fight, and being strapped or whipped, as in the punishments I accepted, first as Kenet’s ladra’an, then as Sergetten’s bound slave.

There is no less violence in the whip, and indeed, far greater intensity of pain in the burn of leather across skin than in the mere crunch of knuckle or bone against flesh. A man is much more likely to scream upon a single touch of the strap than he would upon being kicked or punched.

I am not singular in this regard. Continue reading The Prince’s Boy: Chapter 54

Chapter 47

Luke played the ancient song, the first time he’d played it since that day so long ago. It hung in the chill air like the baying of a hound. It was not the happy song he once thought. It was enthusiastic, exciting, but for no wholesome reason. It was a call to arms, an invitation to rabid violence. It was the kind of song felt bone deep, an inevitable, terrible melody recognized by all who heard it because it hibernated in the deep reservoirs of human ancestral memory, burned into the minds and souls of those who had it ringing in their ears as they died. It was an old song about old blood. Luke understood now how right his mother and the teacher had been to be frightened when a six-year-old in Texas drew that song out of thin air and a cheap child’s violin. Call for Submissions: Halloween Microfictions

Autumn is fast approaching here in New England and that means it’s time for our annual Halloween microfictions!

We are looking for your spooky erotic micro stories to publish on our website as a countdown to Halloween. Stories should be under 1500 words and like with all Circlet Press publications, they must be sex-positive.  All gender pairings are welcome and consent is of the utmost importance.

Please no stories set at Halloween parties. We encourage you to think outside the box. The stories do not have to be set on Halloween. We are simply looking to combine the elements of horror with the elements of erotica. Send a chill down our spine while simultaneously turning us on. Humor is alright too so long as it fits with the theme.

I encourage everyone who considers submitting to read the stories that were chosen last year so you have a better idea of what we like. You can find them here: https://circlet.com/tag/halloween-microfiction/

Payment is $5 and the deadline is October 1st.

Send submissions to jwsubs13@gmail.com as either a Word doc or in the body of an email. Please include a short bio. Multiple submissions are okay.

Slots are limited so we encourage you to submit soon!
