Welcome to Incubus Tales: A Thousand Words by Hushicho. In Noctemberg, it is always night. Dhiar, proprietor and gay incubus, welcomes you to Phantasies, a very special shop. Sensuality is more than just Dhiar’s stock in trade, it is his raison d’être. NSFW.
A new chapter appears every Thursdays. This week is Chapter Thirteen.
13th Night—Twilight Galaxy
“Evvin, darling!”
The Incubus’s voice rang through the shop’s sales floor. Soon, the well-pierced and increasingly well-groomed man appeared before him, smiling and waving. His eyes held a sheepish spark in them.
Dhiar threw his arms around Evvin, pulling him close and pressing a kiss to his lips. Just for a moment, he lingered; just a little longer than necessary.
“How’s business been?” He ran his fingertip along Evvin’s ear, around the bumps and curves of his many rings and studs. “Sorry to have stayed away so long. I intended to just go and come back, but well… you know how one thing leads to another. Got a regular order out of it.”
Evvin slid his arms along Dhiar’s shoulders, leaning in for another sweet kiss, then another. “Anton came by, so I… did my best to help him keep himself fresh. Just in case you sprang a pop quiz on him.”
“Oh, did you now…”
“We, er, ended up just going over some things we’d covered before.”
“Brought up a few things between you.”
“Exactly.” Evvin’s cheeks pinkened just a touch.
“Well, darling,” Dhiar answered, moving his hand down to swat the other man’s backside, “it’s dinnertime and I’ve missed you terribly. What would you like to eat tonight? And…”
“And…?”
“And what would you like to do, afterwards?”
The gleam in Evvin’s eyes told the Incubus everything he needed to know.
Each person’s body was different, even in subtle ways. The discrepancies between the revenant and this vital, vibrant young man were endless. Both of them were an endless pleasure. Dhiar’s mind swam in ecstasy as he felt another orgasm wash over him and splash along Evvin’s psyche.
“That’s… that’ll never be anything but amazing,” Evvin sighed, arching his back.
Dhiar slid smoothly out and dropped atop the man, rubbing cheek to cheek. “For me too.”
“That’s something that always kind of made me wonder.” Evvin stretched his arms up and tucked one behind his head, the other snaking around Dhiar’s chest. “I would’ve thought you’d get tired of it, after this long. I can’t believe it doesn’t get old.”
“You said yourself it would never be anything but amazing, for you…” The Incubus turned his head, kissing down Evvin’s cheek to the corner of his mouth. “It’s the same with me. When it’s someone new, it’s like an undiscovered land, all fresh and secret and hidden, for me to uncover. When it’s a lover I know, it’s a comfortable terrain that will never cease to surprise and arouse me. And amaze me.”
The wind whistled outside the window. Heavy rains buffeted the glass almost instantly. It sounded like small pebbles thrown up against the side of the building.
“Always the perfect thing to say,” Evvin murmured, tilting his mouth up to catch Dhiar’s. “I wonder if it’ll rain all night.”
“All night,” Dhiar replied, “and through tomorrow. Maybe the next day too.”
“Ah! Amongst all your other talents, you’re a meteorologist?”
The Incubus slid his body to the side, dragging his still-full length along the other man’s hip, to just below his navel. “No, but the fellow I was delivering to has many talents. Among them is a curious but rather adorable interest in the weather movements of this place. He’s got… he’s got this grand place, it’s like a celestial dome or something, and he’s… it’s modelled after the city. But it’s more than the city. It’s this whole model of all of it, and it’s amazing…”
“Sometimes I miss the stars.” Evvin reached up, a gasp hitching in his throat as he felt Dhiar’s most intimate parts across his stomach again. “Sometimes the painted ones aren’t enough for me.”
Dhiar’s eyes at once seemed like inscrutable pools of garnet and fluffy little pansy-petals. His brows curved, his mouth lowered again to kiss Evvin’s, and he slowly breathed in.
“One day, you’ll find your stars.”
Barely a whisper. Barely enough to be heard, scarcely the sound of an utterance. Yet it lingered in the air. It rang bell-clear, cut through the din on the outside walls that filled the air.
“What do you mean?” Evvin started his hand moving again, fingertips brushing along the middle of his lover’s back. “Did he tell you something about me, too?”
“It’s nothing I haven’t known from the moment I first met you.” Dhiar brushed his lips on the tip of Evvin’s nose. “I’ve always seen the stars in your eyes. But you want stars outside them too. That’s always how it goes. When you’re a star, you can’t gaze upon yourself. That isn’t how it works.”
No words passed between them for a time, the only sound in the place coming from the downpour hitting wood and brick and glass.
The soft lamps glowed, flickering from time to time as power and energy fluctuated with natural rush and tumult. The whistling of the breeze drowned with the water showering down around it.
“I’ll just admit it,” Evvin answered. “I don’t quite get what you just said, but I think it makes some sense to me.” He began to grin. “But you’re… well, you’re not like a star, I can’t say that. You’re more like a Moon or a Sun or something…”
“Some kind of heavenly body,” Dhiar teased.
“Something like that.”
“You need stars to make your lovely little romantic twilight galaxy,” Dhiar whispered, his breath tickling Evvin’s skin. “Anton’s a bright lovely star, burning bright like a tyger. And you’ve been touched by the light of other things… shooting stars, comets, meteorites… but that’s all part of the journey, you know.”
The young man let breath fill his chest, eyelids falling closed. “You think… do you think we could… take a trip? Leave here? Ever?”
Dhiar moved his body down, lowering his head to rest on Evvin’s chest, closing his own eyes. “It’s not my time to leave here.” He uncurled his fingers and rubbed his palm along his lover’s shoulder. “But Anton’s got a chateau, and if he’s asked you away, you really should take the opportunity. Life’s one of those things that, even if you have forever, sometimes these chances only present themselves once in a very long time.”
“If I do,” Evvin continued, “when I come back… will you be here? Will I… I’ll see you again, won’t I?”
“Even if I’m not here, I promise you… we will see each other again, if you wish it.” Dhiar raised his head and leaned down to kiss Evvin’s mouth.
This time, it was as if they mingled in existence. It was like becoming the same person again, two figures that had separated, for whatever reason, early in life and only now had reunited. Hearts beat as one, breath came in and escaped again.
“Oh Dhiar.” Evvin squeezed his arms around the Incubus. “I love you so much. It’s crazy. I love you so much.”
